Presque Isle County resident, Alcona County resident infected

ALPENA — For the second time in less than a week, another Presque Isle County resident has been confirmed infected with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, District Health Department No. 4 said today.

Another infected Alcona County resident was also announced today by District Health Department No. 2

The announcements bring to 15 the number of Presque Isle County residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus since the outbreak began in mid-March, of whom 12 recovered and one has died.

The total number of Alcona County residents infected since mid-March is 24, of whom 18 have recovered and one has died.

Things remain the same in Alpena County, where 111 residents have been infected, 98 of whom have recovered and 13 of whom have died. Seven Montmorency County residents have been infected, five of whom have recovered.

The number of cases in the state continues to climb, but the death toll continues to be minimal, as the state announced 604 confirmed new infections today, but only six new deaths.

Thus far, there have been 83,386 confirmed cases in Michigan and 6,212 deaths.
