Minor injuries after car hits garbage truck
News Photo by Julie Riddle Police officers confer after a car ran into the back end of a paused garbage truck on U.S.-23 South on Monday. When the garbage truck slowed as it traveled north, signalling a turn onto Ossineke Road, the female driver of a Ford Fusion failed to yield, crashing into the larger vehicle. The car’s front end was mangled, while the garbage truck — which did not lose any of its contents — sustained damage to its dumpster-lifting mechanism. The car’s driver and her passenger were treated for minor injuries on the scene.
