HERRON — The U.S. Postal Service has temporarily closed the Herron post office, in Alpena County.

Retail services from the post office will be rerouted to the Alpena post office for the time being, the U.S. Postal Service says in a news release.

The Postal Service says the closure is because of a safety issue within the building. It did not identify the safety issue.
