Downstaters arrested in PI with weapons
Two loaded handguns and a pair of brass knuckles were confiscated when Michigan State Police troopers made a traffic stop in Presque Isle County.
Suspicious movements by the passenger, 23-year-old Carlos Leal, of Detroit, during the stop in North Allis Township alerted troopers from the Alpena Post, who found the weapons on Leal’s side of the vehicle, according to a news release..
Leal was arrested and lodged in the Presque Isle County Jail.
The driver, a 19-year-old Detroit woman, was cited for driving without a license.
