COVID figures unchanged, health officials say

ALPENA — Coronavirus testing results from local health officials remained static today, with no new positive cases or recoveries reported in Northeast Michigan since Monday.

A total of 700 Alpena County residents have been tested for COVID-19, the sickness caused by the coronavirus, with 600 of those tests reported negative. Another 95 county residents have tested positive, with five tests pending.

Of the 95 Alpena County residents who tested positive, 76 have recovered, health officials say.

Data from other counties, as of 2 p.m. Tuesday:

Tests administered: Alcona County residents, 167, Presque Isle County residents, 202; Montmorency County residents, 185.

Positive tests: Alcona County residents, 17, Presque Isle County residents, 11; Montmorency County residents, five.

Recoveries: Alcona County residents, two, Presque Isle County residents, 11; Montmorency County residents, five.

Deaths while sick with COVID-19: Alpena residents, nine; Alcona residents, one.

Statewide: Confirmed cases, 57,731; deaths while sick with COVID-19, 5,553; recovered cases as of May 29, 38,099.
