ROGERS CITY — The 2020 Rogers City Nautical Festival has been canceled, event organizers said Tuesday.

The Nautical Festival Committee made the decision in a teleconference meeting on Monday, citing concern about a second wave of the coronavirus that is predicted by some to hit later in the year.

The decision also took into consideration the potential financial impact to the community if the festival were held but not well-attended, according to Mike Stempky, the committee’s president.
