State seeks child care connections amid virus
ALPENA — Parents who are part of the essential workforce can receive help finding child care by visiting helpmegrow-mi.org/essential.
The Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District is helping the Governor’s Office to coordinate child care for paramedics, health care and inpatient food service workers, police, sanitation workers, and others deemed essential during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
A form on the website gathers basic information, including shift hours and days, which will be routed to someone in the community who can help make connections to appropriate child care.
Licensed child care providers are encouraged to complete a short survey at surveymonkey.com/r/childcare-covid-response to provide information about their program’s ability to open to essential workforce families.
