Muszynski named prosecutor
ALPENA — Assistant Prosecutor Cynthia Muszynski has been appointed to temporarily fill the vacant position of Alpena County prosecutor.
Judge Benjamin Bolser appointed Muszynski to fill the position, vacated when former prosecutor Ed Black was appointed to fill the 26th Circuit judgeship by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Muszynski was appointed after the other applicant for the position, attorney David Funk, withdrew his application, according to a press release from Bolser.
Muszynski will serve the remainder of Black’s term, which expires at the end of 2020. Voters will pick a new prosecutor in November.
