DNR seeks fish with missing fin

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources asks anglers who catch a trout or salmon with a missing adipose fin to put the head of the fish into a sealed plastic bag (such as a Ziploc bag), label it with the date it was caught, its length, and the approximate area it was caught and drop it off at a DNR drop-off site.

Fish heads can be dropped at the Alpena DNR Fisheries Station, Clems Bait Shop, or Harrisville State Park.

For more information, Tim Cwalinski, DNR biologist, at 989-732-3541 or cwalinskit@michigan.gov.
