Alpena County announced today that the Michigan State University Extension office and Veterans office will be close to the public until April 20, in effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The move follows the closure of the annex building Wednesday, but the Howard Male Conference Room will remain open to the public for posted meetings.

The county says the first floor of the courthouse which houses the clerk, treasurer, Register of Deeds, and equalization offices will remain open. Residents are encouraged to utilize phone, email, postal mail and fax if at all possible to conduct county business.
