No one hurt in fire at Devere

Fire Chief Dave Robbins said no one was injured in the fire, which occurred at a storage facility owned by Devere Industrial. Robbins said he suspects the fire was caused by an electrical issue, but it remains under investigation. He said Devere had someone on-site who reported the fire. He said firefighters were able to “knock down the bulk of the fire fairly quickly” and extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes. Firefighters were assisted at the scene by crews from the Alpena Fire Department, the Maple Ridge Township Fire Department, the Presque Isle Township Fire Department, and the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office.
