Reward offered for info on elk poachers

A cash reward will help find the people responsible for the illegal killing of northern Michigan elk, a conservation group hopes.

The Safari Club International-Michigan Involvement Committee is offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the parties responsible for poaching activity in Otsego and Montmorency counties in late 2019, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources said in a news release.

Two bull elk and three elk cows were discovered poached between mid-November and mid-December.

To report information on the illegal killing of elk or moose in Michigan, call or text the DNR’s Report All Poaching hotline at 800-292-7800.
