3 arrested in ‘19 break-in, beating

A yearlong investigation in Alcona County has led to the arrest of three suspects accused of viciously attacking a Glennie man in January 2019.

Michael Keeting, Kayley Duel, and Quinton McMurren, all of Saginaw, were charged with felony assault and attempted breaking and entering a year after a Curtis Township couple reported a break-in at their home. The male victim had been struck in the head with a metal pipe, resulting in extreme head injuries.

An investigation by the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office determined Keeting, who had worked for the victims, had plotted to drive up from Saginaw to rob the victim. When the victim resisted, he was struck and injured.

Keeting is being held by the Michigan Department of Corrections on other charges. McMurren is lodged at the Alcona County Jail, and Kuel has been released on bond.
