Police: Man tried to bribe witness
An attempted bribe landed a Millersburg man in jail for a second time when Marc Russell was arrested Tuesday, police said.
Out of jail on bond after being charged with threatening people at a house party with a firearm, Russell, 37, allegedly offered money to someone not involved with the incident in exchange for false testimony that would help him in court. Detectives from the Huron Undercover Narcotics Team began an investigation into the bribery after consulting with the Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Office.
Witness bribery is a felony punishable by up to four years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
