A force of nature

December rolled in like a freight train, Lake Huron’s mighty voice roaring through the windowpanes of shoreline residents on the sunrise side. North of Rogers City, where high waters have endangered a portion of the Huron Sunrise Trail bike path and November storms have flung debris to the very edge of U.S.-23, Sunday’s wild waves continued to tug at the rock and sand of the shoreline, one of many spots along Michigan’s coast that is being restructured this year by the unstoppable force of Nature.
