Judge Mack under investigation by State Police

ALPENA — Michael Mack has been suspended from the 26th Circuit Court docket and is under investigation by the Michigan State Police, state court and police officials confirmed today.

Officials would not comment on the nature of the investigation or the reasons Mack was suspended from hearing cases.

The Michigan Supreme Court office ordered Wednesday that 26th Circuit Court Judge Michael Mack be replaced as chief judge for Alpena and Montmorency by Montmorency County Probate Judge Benjamin Bolser, effective immediately and through the end of the year.

Bolser suspended Mack from the docket, Michigan Supreme Court spokesman John Nevin confirmed today.

Nevin said at this time he has no details as to why the Michigan Supreme Court justices decided to make the move or any complaints made against Mack.

Neither Mack nor Bolser have responded to messages seeking comment.
