Man charged for threats with semiauto rifle

A man with a semiautomatic rifle threatened a group of people near a Miller Street apartment in July, according to charges filed against Travis Worth, 26, of Alpena.

Worth was bound over to the 26th Circuit Court on Tuesday, charged with carrying a loaded AR-15 concealed in a truck to use against another person on July 5. Another charge accuses Worth of felonious assault without intent to murder, creating a reasonable apprehension of imminent harm with the use of a weapon.

The apartment was also the site of a home invasion in June, when Alpena-area residents Jacob Acre and Nehemiah Furgerson, sentenced this week in Circuit Court, kicked open the victim’s door and threatened her with a baseball bat because, they said, she had sold fentanyl-laced drugs to their friend, causing him to overdose.
