One hurt in pair of Monday afternoon wrecks

A Subaru Forester drove into the New Life Christian Fellowship sign on Monday at the corner of Clinton Street and Ripley Boulevard. Alpena Police Officer Andrew Smith said the woman driver had a seizure while driving, which caused her to go off the roadway and hit the sign. The woman was transported to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena for medical attention.

No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday on Chisholm Street near 5th Avenue. The driver of a white Jeep was rear-ended by the driver of a silver pickup truck while stopped on southbound Chisholm, according to officials with the Alpena Police Department who responded to the scene. The city’s ambulance also responded, but as a precaution.
