Star Staffing Alpena was ranked 4,211 on Inc. Magazine’s 5,000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies, the local firm said in a news release.

Local Michigan Works!
honored for goals
The Michigan Works! Northeast Michigan Consortium was among 11 Michigan Works! affiliates honored for hitting all Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates goals, according to a news release from the local office.
The local office earned the “5 of 5” recognition for hitting targets for graduation, job placement, positive outcomes such as further education, full-time placement and full-time jobs, according to the news release. The honor is given by Jobs for America’s Graduates, the umbrella organization overseeing the statewide program.
Statewide, Jobs for Michigan scored 95% in graduation rate, 67% in total job placement and military service, 85% in positive outcomes, 90% in full-time placement and 76% in full-time jobs.
The Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium worked with 184 new employers in July, according to the office’s monthly newsletter.
