Jansen Harte, 13, catches air at the Alpena skate park Friday. He and his friends, Evan Schee, 10, and Matthew Schee, 11, both of Alpena, were out for a day of summer fun, with fishing and possibly a trip to the beach on the day’s menu. The Schees, who live nearby, said they make frequent trips to the skate park during the summer, and Evan Schee proudly showed off his well-bruised shins as evidence of a summer well-spent.
