Police recover stolen truck

A pickup truck was recovered by the Alpena Police Department after it was stolen from a driveway on Sunday while the owner was nearby, according to a news release from the Alpena police.

The owner, who initially thought the truck was being driven by a family member, realized the theft shortly thereafter and called police. APD entered vehicle information into a nationwide database.

The truck, which had been abandoned, was recovered later that evening by Montmorency County sheriff’s deputies after an extensive search. Following a tip, officers found and arrested a 28-year-old Alpena man suspected of stealing the vehilce.
