8 p.m.: Dispatch received a report of a one-vehicle rollover on US-23 and Shore Drive. When deputies arrived, the driver, a 59-year-old man, took off running away from the vehicle. He was apprehended and arrested on the nearby beach under suspicion of operating under the influence of alcohol. A blood alcohol content (BAC) of .205 caused the driver to be charged with high BAC. Michigan law dictates that first-time DWI offenders with a BAC over 0.17 receive more jail time and higher fees than those with a blood alcohol content below that standard.
