Excel club visits Capitol
The Wildcat Exchange Excel Club attends the Michigan Trust Fund Child Abuse Prevention Rally in Lansing on April 25. Students had conversations with state Sen. Jim Stamas, R-Midland, and state Rep. Sue Allor, R-Wolverine, the two lawmakers who represent Alpena. They “planted” pinwheels, the national symbol for child abuse prevention, attended sessions of the state Senate and state House, being recognized at both, and took a photo with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer rounded out the day.
