Hillman woman accused of Bridge Card fraud

A Hillman woman accused of using a stolen Bridge card, by which the federal government provides food and cash assistance, faces felony fraud charges.

Denielle Proffitt, 44, was arrested after the owner of the card, who lived with Proffitt for a time, noticed missing funds from the card and reported the loss to police.

Evidence obtained from Walmart implicated Proffitt, who was arrested and arraigned in the 88th District Court Tuesday, charged with one count of stealing or retaining a financial transaction device without consent and one count of illegal sale or use of a credit card.
