Left to right, Michigan 36th District Sen. Jim Stamas accepts a recognition award from Michigan Library Association Director Gail Madziar, as well as an honorary library card from Alpena County Library Director Eric Magness-Eubank Wednesday at the library. Stamas was recognized by MLA as legislator of the year by the MLA Board of Directors. Madziar said one of the reasons Stamas was recognized was because of his continued efforts to assure libraries received increase funding over the years.
