Blury celebrates 35 years of service

Nate Blury marked his 35th year with Financial Services by Design selling life insurance, health insurance and retirement products on behalf of the companies of OneAmerica on June 1. Blury also recently attended his 16th Leaders’ Club Convention, a OneAmerica event that distinguishes exceptional financial professionals.

Blury, who holds the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow and Chartered Life Underwriter designations, started his career in 1981 with American United Life Insurance Company, a OneAmerica company. Since that point he has served the financial needs of the community of Alpena.

“The products and services of the OneAmerica companies can help clients protect what they’ve worked so hard to build today and give them more choices in retirement,” Blury said. “I’m proud to be part of an organization with a nearly 140-year-old legacy of delivering on promises when our customers need us the most.”

Blury has spent countless hours helping to improve the quality of life in the Alpena community through organizations like Word of Life Baptist Church. He is the past president and a board member for Child and Family Services of Northeast Michigan, Inc., past board president for The Promise FM and founder and leader for the Annual Ride for the Homeless. The latter organization, founded by Blury 17 years ago, has raised more than $160,000 for Sunrise Mission, an Alpena homeless shelter. Blury has been happily married to Lisa for 34 years and has three children and three grandchildren.
