ALPENA – The Alpena Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is looking for a new or existing small businesses to fill a rotating tiny shop at the Water Street Commons in Alpena, according to a DDA press release on Friday. Applications are currently open and the DDA is scheduling daily use from now through Oct. 30.

The DDA will begin scheduling daily rentals for the holiday season in August.

“The rotating tiny shop at Water Street Commons offers an affordable, low-risk way to showcase your business in the heart of downtown Alpena,” the release stated. “It’s a great way to test your business, reach new customers, or promote your offerings without a long-term commitment.”

Interested businesses must submit a one-time application for the calendar year and must request use at minimum 36 hours in advance, the release stated. It is $25 dollars a day to rent with a minimum of one day and a maximum of five days per calendar month. If selected, businesses must be open the required hours for that day.

The available shop is 12′ x 10′ and is equipped with two outlets, the release stated. All displays and fixtures vendors bring must be free standing. The summer season ends Aug. 31 and the fall season runs from September to October.

Summer hours are as follows:

Thursdays and Fridays: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sundays and Mondays: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Fall hours are as follows:

Fridays: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
