ALPENA — Police say the suspect involved in a reported shooting attempt at the Time to Shine Carwash in Alpena has been contained, but not yet taken into custody.

According to a Michigan State Police Sergeant at the scene, there is no threat to the public, but added that the situation is still unfolding.

There is currently a large police presence in the Thunder Bay and Pinebrook apartment complexes and police are not allowing anyone or out of them. There are also police at the car wash and the Corner Depot Shell Station at the corner of Bagley Street and Long Rapids Road.

Reports of gunshots were reported early Friday night. According to police, nobody was injured.
