ALPENA — The community is invited to learn about a new childbirth program and expanded clinical spaces at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena during an upcoming open house, according to a MyMichigan Health press release on Wednesday.

The free event will be held on June 2 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will feature information on the new CenteringPregnancy® Program, guided tours of updated facilities, a meet-n-greet with health care providers and staff, as well as light refreshments.

“Our June open house is an opportunity for the community to see firsthand how we are growing and evolving to better serve Alpena and surrounding areas,” Mike Erickson, market president of MyMichigan Medical Centers Alpena, Saginaw, Standish, Tawas, and Towne Centre, said in the release. “We are proud to introduce new prenatal care options and showcase improved environments that support the health and well-being of our patients.”

The open house will celebrate the launch of the CenteringPregnancy® Program, an innovative prenatal care model designed to provide a more collaborative and supportive experience for expectant parents, according to MyMichigan Health. Attendees can learn how the program works, explore its benefits, and discover how it helps promote healthier outcomes for both parents and their babies.

MyMichigan Health states guests can also tour the newly renovated and relocated departments, including: MyMichigan Obstetrics & Gynecology, now on the Second Floor, 2 Central Unit; MyMichigan Pediatrics, now located on the Third Floor, 3 Central Unit, as well as MyMichigan Pulmonary, Respiratory and Sleep Disorders, now located on the Third Floor, 3 South Unit.

Open house guests are encouraged to use the main hospital entrance. Signage and volunteers will be in place to guide guests to the event. Those interested in learning more about becoming a patient of MyMichigan Obstetrics & Gynecology may call (989) 356-5228 or sign-up at the event.
