Bergman votes in favor of 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act
WASHINGTON D.C. — This week, Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet, voted in favor of the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, legislation aimed at making housing more attainable and affordable for families across the nation, according to a press release on Thursday.
Bergman issued the following statement following House passage of the legislation:
“Housing costs are crushing working families across Northern Michigan and the U.P. — and Washington’s outdated regulations are only making it worse. Yesterday I voted in favor of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act — bipartisan legislation to cut red tape, modernize housing rules, and make it easier to build affordable homes in rural communities.
“For too long, bureaucrats in D.C. have stood in the way of local solutions. This bill helps unlock new housing opportunities, supports infrastructure improvements, and gives communities the flexibility they need to grow.
“Our families deserve affordable places to live, raise a family, and build their future – without being priced out of their hometowns.”
