Alpena High School technical education students excel at regional, state competitions

ALPENA — Alpena High School, Career and Technical Education Woodworking students competed at the Regional and State Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society (MITES) Competition the past couple of weeks, taking projects that they have built throughout the year to compete against other students from around the region and state. Students had a great showing, both at the regional and state level, highlighting their skill level, creativity and craftsmanship.

– Jack Truman – Bullet Casing Epoxy Table with Welded Steel Legs – 1st Place at Regional; 4th Place at State Competition

– Robert Edgekoski – End Grain Cutting Board with Blood Wood Frame – 1st Place at Regional; 5th Place at State Competition

– Noah Roznowski – Exotic Lumber Cutting Board with CNC and Epoxy Design – 4th Place at Regional; 10th Place at State Competition

– Joshua Dehring – Recipe Box – 4th Place at Regional; 7th Place at State Competition

– Noah Roznowski – Red Oak End Table with CNC Deer Scene – Honorable Mention

– Nathan Brown – Folded Chess Checker Board with Exotic Lumber – 3rd Place at Regional; 8th Place at State Competition
