ALPENA – Friday is Decision Day at Alpena High School. Decision Day happens annually in May. It celebrates all our Seniors as they commit to their postsecondary pathways, including 4-year universities, community colleges, trade schools, the military, or workforce training. We call this their Plus 1. A Plus 1 is an additional credential/degree/training beyond a high school diploma to prepare for success in the workforce! Labor statistics show that 65% of jobs require a credential or degree after high school. This celebration acknowledges their pursuit of education or training beyond their diploma that will brighten their future economic prospects.
