ALPENA, Mich. – While MyMichigan Urgent Care Alpena remains without power due to the winter storm, a temporary walk-in clinic has been opened in the HealthPlex Building on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, 1501 W. Chisholm Street.
Patients should park in the Medical Center’s main parking lot and enter through the HealthPlex North Entrance. The clinic is located on the second floor and will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Tuesday, March 17, and will provide care for minor illness and injuries. A volunteer is onsite for direction to the clinic. The MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena Emergency Department remains open and available for patients with serious or life-threatening conditions.
In addition to the temporary walk-in clinic, a portable trailer at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena is available to refill oxygen tanks for emergency personnel and community members who rely on portable oxygen. The refill trailer is in the visitor parking lot near the HealthPlex South Entrance on the MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena campus. Volunteers are available to fill tanks Tuesday, March 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
MyMichigan Urgent Care Alpena expects to resume normal operations on Wednesday, March 18, pending restoration of power.
Community members are encouraged to continue monitoring local updates as recovery efforts continue across Northeast Michigan.
