HARRISVILLE — On Wednesday at approximately 1:45 p.m., Alcona County Central Dispatch received a call about a rollover traffic crash at the intersection of US-23 and M-72 in Harrisville. Alcona County sheriff’s deputies along with Harrisville Fire Department and Alcona EMS responded to the scene.
They found that a northbound 2019 Chevy Equinox had crossed the centerline and ran off of the road in front of the Craftmaker’s Cabin where it flipped onto its side.
The vehicle then slid back into the roadway where it came to rest on its side on US-23 in front of Teresa’s Diner.
The vehicle was driven by 39-year-old Christina Dietrich from East Tawas. Deitrich and a minor child had to be assisted out of the vehicle by first responders. Deitrich and the minor were transported to MyMichigan Medical Center in Tawas City by Alcona EMS.
Deputies do not believe that drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role in the crash as the driver indicated that fatigue played a role and she may have fallen asleep.
