Alpena man arrested for possessing child sexually abusive material

ALPENA – In November 2024, the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post began a criminal investigation involving a 30-year old Alpena man.

Troopers received a tip from the MSP Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force regarding accounts with suspected child sexually abusive material linked to them. Following several search warrants, troopers seized the man’s electronic devices, which contained digital evidence. He was arrested and lodged at the Alpena County Jail without incident.

The nam was charged with one count of Child Sexually Abusive Material – Aggravated Possession, three counts of Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, two counts of Computers- Using to Commit a Crime. He was arraigned in the 88th Judicial District Court on Friday.

He was given a $50,000 cash or surety bond and his next court appearance is on Thursday at 10 a.m.
