Alpena County Emergency Operations update

According to an Alpena County Emergency Operations press release on Monday, as of 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, all lines for Alpena Power Company (APC) customers have power. APC is continuing clean-up and repairs at individual homes with damaged lines. The Alpena County Road Commission is continuing to do clean-up, as well.

Below is a list resources available to community members:

– The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan pop-up pantry on Tuesday will take place at the Northern Lights Arena Parking lot in Alpena.

– The Friendship Room at St. Bernard’s is open Monday through Friday 4 p.m to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

– Boys and Girls Club of Alpena (19 and under) is open for meals Monday through Friday at 4 p.m. You do not have to be a member to receive a meal. Membership is $50 per year with scholarships available.

– The Salvation Army food and hygiene pantry is open for appointments. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call (989) 358-2769 to set up an appointment.

– St. Vincent de Paul’s pantry is open for appointments. Food support is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Families are allowed to utilize this pantry once a month. Call 989-464-6375 to set up an appointment.

– Trinity Episcopal Church serves dinner on Sundays from 4 to 5 p.m. The food pantry is available by appointment. Call 989-356-0576 for more information.

– Grace Lutheran’s Dunbar Food Pantry is open 24/7. There is an outdoor box and inside cabinet in the entrance to the Parish Ed. building.

– ACC has a food pantry in Besser Technical Center. Anyone enrolled at ACC has access.

– Sunrise Community Food Pantry is available at the Hubbard Lake Bible Church on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

– FFA Little Food Pantry at Alpena High School is located in the rear traffic circle, off Garden Street.
