ALPENA – For the first time, the Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) will host the Home Expo this Saturday at the APlex from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission to the event is free of charge.

The purpose of the event is to better educate, make connections, and raise awareness for home improvements and maintenance, while exploring what businesses offer from a financial and educational perspective.

Director of Marketing for AAACU, LeAnn Schultz, explained the expo and all the details about it.

“The expo is geared towards anyone who is building a house, repairing a house, or anyone interested in learning more about the process of building and maintaining a house,” Schultz said.

There will be over 50 vendor displays, product information, and knowledgeable tradespeople at your disposal, ready to solve your home-building and improvement needs. Additionally, there will be several Amish craftsmen in attendance selling their goods.

“We will have activities for the children, including a Kids Corner for the little ones, and family vendors to explore and check out while you’re there,” Schultz said.

The Thunder Bay Junior High Honor Society will be conducting a fundraiser during the expo. All the proceeds raised through the concession stands will go to the honor society.

Whether you are interested in new windows and doors, how to better insulate your home, gutters, or any other home improvement needs, the Northeast Michigan Home Expo is a one-stop shop for answers to all of your home-building and maintenance questions.
