ALPENA — Alpena County 2027 Youth and Recreation grant applications are now available on the County’s website at www.alpenacounty.org. All grants approved will be for Alpena County recreational activities or for recreational site development or improvements. The deadline to apply will be 4 p.m. on May 1. Allocation for next year’s allocations are expected to be approximately $600,000.

All approvals will be contingent on the passing of the Youth and Recreation millage planned for Aug. 4.

A pre-deadline workshop will be held on April 2 at 7 p.m. at the Alpena County annex building in the Howard Male Conference Room. This is an opportunity to have committee members look over your grant and give suggestions before they are officially submitted. Your grant need not be complete, this will be a great chance to gain valuable input on your application, budget and budget narratives. All applicants are invited and new applicants are encouraged to attend.
