Target Huron Small Business Support Hub awards second round of direct grants in five county region

Alpena – The Target Alpena Development Corporation (TADC) is excited to announce that the Target Huron Small Business Support Hub has awarded 51 Small Businesses Direct Grants in Alpena, Alcona, Cheboygan, Iosco and Presque Isle counties.
The Direct Grant program offers established businesses funding to drive revenue and growth. This grant can be used to purchase new equipment, marketing materials or services, inventory, hardware or software, and specialized consulting services. By leveraging this support, businesses can make strategic investments that enhance their operations and contribute to regional economic development. Awardees receive up to $5000 in reimbursement funds to support their current needs. Applicants were required to provide information on their grant applications that covered three categories which are eligibility, acknowledgements, and programming. The applications were scored accordingly through the standardized scoring rubric.
Community members from each county were selected to review applications to ensure that all 82 qualified applications met criteria and were scored accurately.
Alpena County had 14 awardees, Alcona County had five, and Presque Isle County had six.
The Target Huron Small Business Support Hub is made possible through funding from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and in part by SLFRP0127, which was awarded to the State of Michigan by the U.S. Department of the Treasury as part of the American Rescue Plan Act.
