April 1: The state’s Michigan History Center will set up a special interactive exhibit that brings Michigan history to life, beyond the shipwrecks already featured throughout the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center.

The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center (GLMHC) is a shipwreck museum and visitor center for Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, which is 4,300 square miles of Lake Huron designated as a protected area because of nearly 200 nationally significant and well-preserved shipwrecks. The GLMHC is free of admission and open weekdays from 8am to 5pm, Saturdays 10am to 5pm, and Sundays noon to 5pm.
