MICHIGAN – Priority Health has received the highest possible rating from the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) for its Michigan Medicaid health plans, according to a Wednesday Priority Health press release. Priority Health was one of two health plans in the Lower Peninsula to receive the five out of five apples rating, based on performance.
Priority Health, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan serving more than 1.4 million members, offers Medicaid plans for individuals and families in Michigan, including MIChild and the Healthy Michigan Plan and Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS).
“Priority Health’s top recognition for the quality of our Medicaid health plan is a powerful reflection of our commitment to deliver high-quality care and exceptional customer service to our members,” Nick Gates, president of Priority Health, said in the release. “This reflects our team’s exceptional work and dedication to removing barriers and providing the best possible care for our most vulnerable populations.”
In the rankings from MDHHS, five apples indicates an “above average” performance when compared to the average of all Michigan Medicaid health plans, according to the release. Priority Health earned an overall rating of five apples based on performance in the following categories:

– Getting care: Priority Health no-cost services ensure members have access to in-person and virtual care.
– Keeping kids healthy: Children in the Priority Health plan get regular checkups and vaccines.
