ALPENA — Beginning Monday, residents and commuters are advised that contractors for DTE will be performing repair work on the natural gas distribution system on Ford Avenue.

Work will occur at three separate locations along Ford Ave. Work areas will be clearly marked with construction signage and safety barriers.

The work will take place at:

– Intersection of Oldfield St. and Ford Ave.

– Between Lake St. and Clark St.

– Between Avery St. and Bosley St.

The project is scheduled to last approximately one to two weeks, weather permitting. Crews will work during standard daytime hours.

While there is no full road closure planned at this time, lane shifts and temporary single-lane traffic may be necessary to ensure crew and public safety around the work zones.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to seek an alternate route during this period to avoid congestion. Motorists can expect normal, uninterrupted gas service to your homes throughout the project duration.
