Jan. 19

12:39 a.m. A driver ran out of gas in Briley Township. A deputy drove the driver to his residence after getting the vehicle off of the roadway.

6:01 p.m. A driver in Briley Township slid into the ditch while turning off of another roadway. There was no vehicle damage and no injuries were reported. A tow company was contacted for the driver but while en route, a passerby helped them out of the ditch.

Jan. 20

12:04 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a subject in Briley Township. A deputy responded to the residence. Fresh tire tracks were observed leaving the driveway but no contact was able to be made.

3:36 p.m. A male subject was reported walking down the road in Montmorency Township. The complainant believed the male was possibly impaired. A deputy responded to the area but was unable to locate a male walking.

Jan. 21

4:11 a.m. MSP troopers and a deputy responded to a residence in Avery Township after a domestic assault was reported. The suspect fled from the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. The suspect was found driving and a traffic stop was initiated. One 22-year-old male was arrested for domestic violence and lodged at Alpena County Jail.

1:44 p.m. A trooper came across a vehicle in a snowbank while on routine patrol in Lewiston. M&D Towing was contacted for the removal of the vehicle.

2:05 p.m. A driver in Briley Township got his truck stuck and just needed extra hands to help. A MCSO deputy responded to assist.

Jan. 22

12:59 A welfare check was requested on a male in the Village of Hillman. A deputy found the subject to be okay.

1:06 p.m. Dispatch received a 911 hang up call. The subject answered when called back and advised that there was an ongoing dispute with another subject within the residence. A civil standby was requested. Deputies responded and stayed on scene until all subjects were separated.

Jan. 23

5:30 a.m. A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Albert Township; a report was taken.

9:17 p.m. Deputies responded to a commercial motion alarm in Briley Township. There were no signs of forced entry and nobody was found inside.

9:28 p.m. Tri Township Fire Department responded to an area in Briley Township after a strong smell of natural gas was reported. The firefighters were able to find which residence the smell was coming from and PIE&G was contacted.

11:47 p.m. A resident came into the lobby to report a neighbor burning trash. Shortly after, other neighboring residences called for the same complaint. A deputy responded to the area but was unable to find a fire, just houses using wood stoves.

Jan. 24

1:11 a.m. A deputy on routine patrol came across a vehicle in the ditch in Vienna Township. The deputy waited on scene until assistance arrived to help with the removal of the vehicle.

Jan. 25

6:05 a.m. A report of a vehicle in the ditch was called in to dispatch. A deputy responded to the scene, he was unable to contact the owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
