Herman Vogler Conservation Area open house

ROGERS CITY – The community is invited to an open house focused on the future of Herman Vogler Conservation Area in Presque Isle County.
The event is scheduled for March 3 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Rogers City Senior Center.
Community input is welcome on ideas for enhancing recreation, access to the river, wildlife viewing, trails and other nature-based amenities.
Restoration of the Trout River is moving forward with project partners Huron Pines, Barr Engineering Michigan LLC and the Presque Isle Conservation District. Project designs are 60% complete and partners are inviting input from the Presque Isle County community to help inform the project’s next phase.
The session will provide attendees:
– An opportunity for direct input on potential features and uses for Herman – Vogler Conservation Area
– Updates on the Trout River restoration project and preliminary designs
– Visual renderings of what the restored river could look like
– Information about the project timeline and decisions made to date
– Interaction with project partners from Huron Pines, Barr Engineering, and Presque Isle Conservation District
This event is an open-house format and is family friendly. Refreshments will be provided.
