The check celebrates TBCHS’s commitment to energy-conscious design that was implemented during the 12‑month renovation of the former long‑vacant bank building.

Alpena Power Company and Efficiency United have recognized Thunder Bay Community Health Service (TBCHS) with a rebate for using energy-efficient installations at their newly completed facility located at 200 W. Chisholm Street. The building now serves as the home of TBCHS administrative offices as well as the Bay Athletic Club.

The ceremonial check celebrates TBCHS’s commitment to energy-conscious design that was implemented during the 12‒month renovation of the former long‒vacant bank building. The renovation features energy efficient appliances, lighting, motion-sensor control panels, and more. These elements modernized the building into a facility suitable for the demands of both a fitness center and office space.

The rebate award from Alpena Power Company is part of the Efficiency United Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency program, facilitated by CLEAResult and the Michigan community Action Agency Association. This statewide program rewards organizations that invest in energy-saving technology that reduces both customer sending and strain on the electric grid.

Representatives from Alpena Power Company and Efficiency United CLEAResult awarded TBCHS with a ceremonial check on Thursday, January 29th. There will be a public open house at 200 W. Chisholm Street this spring.
