Dec. 8
7:12 a.m. The Road Commission called referencing a disabled vehicle on the side of the road in Albert Township. The vehicle was a road hazard and towed from the scene.
7:25 a.m. A deputy transported an inmate from Otsego Jail to Montmorency County Courthouse on a writ. The prisoner was returned to Otsego Jail after his court appearance.
9:22 a.m. A deer vehicle crash in Montmorency Township was reported. A report was taken.
9:59 a.m. A driver called to report a pile of debris in the middle of M32 in Rust Township. MDOT was advised and responded to clean it up.
Dec. 9
10:21 a.m. A multi-car crash was reported in Vienna Township; on M32 just west of Co Rd 491. MCSO deputy, MSP Trooper, Tri Township EMS and Vienna Fire Department all responded to the scene. The road was closed and traffic rerouted for approximately one hour. No injuries were reported.
Dec. 10
7:43 a.m. An MSP trooper reported a vehicle in a ditch in Avery Township; the vehicle was removed and a report was taken.
8:22 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence in Avery Township for a dispute; after speaking with both parties all units cleared and both parties separated for the night.
Dec. 11
8:04 p.m. A vehicle deer accident was reported in Rust Township; a report was taken.
9:45 p.m. A vehicle deer accident was reported in Vienna Township; a report was taken.
Dec. 12
10:20 a.m. The supervisor of the Road Commission called to ask that we speak with an Avery Township resident about plowing the snow from his driveway across the road. A deputy contacted the homeowner and advised him he can’t plow the snow across the road.
10:58 a.m. Alpena City Police requested a deputy respond to a residence in Montmorency Township to see if the vehicle there had any front-end damage, as he is investigating a hit and run in Alpena County.
12 p.m. A concerned resident of Albert Township called about a dog that had been left outside without shelter. Contact was made with the owner of the dog and she was advised she can’t leave the dog outside all day with no shelter.
4:34 p.m. A report of a snowmobile on fire in Albert Township was made. Albert Township Fire Department and an MCSO deputy responded to the scene.
6:03 p.m. A deputy came across a vehicle deer accident while on routine patrol. A report was taken and the driver was able to get the vehicle home.
7:36 p.m. A civil standby was requested in Loud Township. The owner of the residence was unable to be reached via phone, a deputy went to the residence but was also unable to make contact. The requesting party was advised to go through civil court.
9:01 p.m. Multiple vehicles speeding up and down a street in Briley Township were reported. A deputy responded to the area but was unable to locate any of the vehicles. The parents of the subjects were spoken to.
Dec. 13
11:03 a.m. Deputies responded to a verbal dispute in Loud Township. Parties were separated upon their arrival. Officers spoke with all parties involved.
8:47 p.m. A resident reported a truck speeding down the roadway in Briley Township. A deputy responded but was unable to locate the vehicle.
9:33 p.m. A passerby drove past a disabled vehicle that appeared to be stuck in the snow and stated it was in a hazardous spot, nearly in the lane. Deputies responded and with the help from another passerby they were able to push the vehicle out of the snow for the driver.
Dec. 14
10:30 a.m. A passerby called to report a vehicle in the ditch in Briley Township. The vehicle was gone upon the deputy’s arrival.
8 p.m. Deputies and Elkie’s responded to a vehicle slide off. The vehicle was towed and a report was taken.
9:30 p.m. A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Hillman Township; a report was taken
10:59 p.m. A dog was reported missing in Briley Township; the owner later called to report it had been found.
