On Tuesday, Wright Electric will begin installing electronic message signs on the traffic signal at the Third/Bagley/Hobbs intersection, according to a City of Alpena press release.

The release states these message signs will read “No Turn on Red” and will coordinate with the overall light cycle. The signs will come on when there is a situation where vehicles cannot turn on red and will be turned off when right turns are permitted.

The contractor will complete all work from the shoulders and the intersection will remain open during this installation.

Wright Electric is expected to finish this work by Wednesday unless weather or construction delays occur.

City crews will remove the permanent “No Right Turn” signage once this work is complete.
