The Alpena Fire Department was requested to 208 Beebe Street for a structure fire at 8:36 a.m. on Thursday, according to a press release from that day. Upon arrival, command reported smoke and flames visible from inside a detached garage.

Fire crews made a quick entry and extinguished the fire, confining it to the area of origin where repairs were being performed on a motorcycle.

Fire crews remained on scene for less than an hour checking for extension and overhauling the incident.

No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.

Alpena Fire Department initially responded with seven on-duty personnel, the Chief and Deputy Chief, and additional 4 off-duty personnel were called in to staff the station.

Alpena Police Department and Alpena Central Dispatch assisted.
