Parent information forum on choosing and paying for college
According to an Alpena Public Schools (APS) press release on Monday, APS is hosting an information forum about choosing and paying for college at 6 p.m. on Nov. 6.
The release states that the event is intended for juniors, seniors, and their parents “and may be particularly valuable for first generation college going students.”
All who are interested are welcome to attend, according to APS. Alpena High School Counselor Robyn Miller will discuss options to help families pay for higher education and how to choose a college that is a good match for the student.
“Scholarships give our families’ access to education and training that can lead to quality careers for students, without the burden of future repayment”, Miller said in the release. “Finding the right institution and environment to learn at is also very important for a successful post-secondary experience.”
This event will last about 45 minutes to an hour.
