On Sunday, deputies from Alcona County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian in Harrisville. The investigation showed that a 16-year old was walking northbound on the shoulder of U.S. 23 when a vehicle,also traveling north and driven by an 81-year old Harrisville, struck it. The juvenile was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena for treatment of some injuries.

The crash did not involve alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed. The deputies were assisted on the scene by the Michigan State Police, Harrisville first responders, and Alcona EMS.
